M. Power Makeup

Owner/Makeup Artist - March 2013 - Present

As the owner and operator of M. Power Makeup, not only do IĀ oversee all business operations while leveraging social media and networks for business growth, but I also perform makeup application services for weddings and other special occasions. I also consult with clients on general skincare and beauty.

City of Chattanooga

Intern - September 2015 - December 2015

During my time as an intern, I was privileged enough to work with the Chattanooga City Council under the direct supervision of Councilman Yusuf Hakeem of District 9. I performed general office and/or administrative tasks as needed for the Councilman while also assisting the Councilman by developing and managing his social media presence.

Operations Advisor - August 2011 - December 2013

As an Operations Advisor, I wore many hats within the company. I was chiefly responsible for processing down payments on vehicle transactions, coordinating with local government agencies to assist customers with vehicle registration, and coordinating with vendors to ensure proper documentation for each vehicle. I was also asked several times to train and mentor Operations Advisors around the state of Tennessee. I also maintained an organized office environment through routine office management tasks, reconciled daily credit card transactions, reconciled petty cash, and maintained a balanced cash drawer.

Business Office Associate - July 2009 - August 2011

During my time at CarMax, I was mainly responsible for coordinating with local government agencies to assist customers with registering their vehicles in their home counties as well as coordinating with vendors to ensure proper documentation for our merchandise. I composed detailed packages providing customers with all the necessary documents required for the sale and purchase of vehicles in 8 states. I also maintained an organized office environment through routine office management tasks. I also managed daily schedules for other associates while providing coaching, training, and feedback to aid in team growth.

I have been writing short stories since I was a child and I continue to do so for my own enjoyment.

I am lucky enough to have a bit of musical talent – I sing, write, and play the dulcimer (poorly).
